I have found that unrequested advice about money from others almost always comes from a place of exposing their own insecurities. “You can’t” and “You shouldn’t” is really a cover for, “I can’t” and “I shouldn’t”.

Good for you, breaking out of the cycle of making money to spend money and never questioning what really brings value to your life. That is a place many people start and never leave. Once money stops equaling personal value, everything changes shape.
